Mariah Richard joined our Woodward Audiology team in July 2017 as an audiology resident. She graduated from Truman State with her B.A. in communication sciences and disorders and then continued on to pursue her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduating with her Au.D. this May, she will continue working with us as a full-time audiologist. Mariah grew up in the small rural town of Perry, Illinois, which is about 30 minutes southeast of Quincy. She is currently a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Academy (NSSLHA) and the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA). During the past three years, Mariah has had over 1,000 hours of hands-on clinical experience with a variety of patient ages and populations. Additionally, hearing loss runs in her immediate family, so she is proficient in American Sign Language. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working in the garden, riding four-wheelers, and playing with her Australian Shepherd, Ryder.
